Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before placing an order with Trade Sites UK. By confirming an order — whether verbally, by email, or by making a payment — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not proceed with an order.

1. Definitions

• "We / Us / Our" — Trade Sites UK, a trading name operated in the United Kingdom.
• "You / Client" — the individual or business that places an order with us.
• "Service" — the website design, build, hosting, domain management, and ongoing maintenance services we provide.
• "Setup Fee" — the one-time payment due before we begin work on your website.
• "Monthly Fee" — the recurring subscription covering hosting, SSL, domain renewal, and ongoing support.
• "Go Live" — the point at which your website is published and accessible on your domain.

2. Our services

We offer three website packages for UK tradespeople:

All packages include hosting, domain registration, SSL certificate, and up to 5 content updates per month (see Section 8). Prices are quoted in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

3. Placing an order

An order is placed when you confirm in writing (email or message) that you wish to proceed, or when you make a Setup Fee payment. At that point a contract is formed between you and Trade Sites UK on these Terms.

We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.

4. Setup fee & payment

The Setup Fee is due in full before we begin work on your website. Work will not commence until payment is received and cleared.

The Setup Fee covers design, copywriting, development, and initial launch of your website. It is non-refundable once work has begun, except where we are at fault (see Section 12). If you cancel before work begins, a full refund will be issued.

We accept payment by bank transfer and card. Invoices are due within 7 days of issue.

5. Monthly subscription

The Monthly Fee is charged from the month your site goes live. It covers:

• Website hosting and server maintenance
• SSL certificate
• Domain name renewal
• Security monitoring and backups
• Up to 5 content updates per month
• Technical support by phone and email

Monthly fees are billed monthly in advance. If a payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days, we reserve the right to suspend the website until the outstanding balance is cleared.

We may review pricing annually. We will give you at least 30 days' written notice of any price increase. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel in accordance with Section 6.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time by giving us 1 calendar month's written notice by email to info@tradesitesuk.co.uk. The subscription will end at the close of the notice period and no further monthly fees will be charged.

There are no cancellation penalties or lock-in periods. Upon cancellation:

• Your domain name remains registered in your name and we will assist with any transfer at no charge.
• We will provide you with the website files on request, so you can host the site yourself or move to another provider.
• Hosting will cease at the end of the notice period.

We may cancel or suspend the service immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in unlawful activity through your website, or fail to pay outstanding invoices after 14 days' notice.

7. What you must provide

To allow us to build your website efficiently, you agree to provide the following within 7 working days of placing your order:

• Your full business name, trade, and primary location
• Contact details (phone number and email address)
• Any services you offer and the areas you cover
• Any photos, logo, or branding materials you have (optional — we will create these if not supplied)
• Any specific information you want included (pricing, accreditations, etc.)

Delays in providing this information may delay your launch date. We accept no liability for delays caused by late or incomplete content from you.

You confirm that any materials you provide (images, text, logos) are owned by you or that you have the right to use them, and that they do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

8. Content updates

Up to 5 content updates per month are included in your Monthly Fee. An "update" means a minor change such as updating your phone number, adding a photo, changing a price, editing copy, or adding a service area.

Updates do not include structural redesigns, new page layouts, new features, or significant additions of content. These will be quoted separately and agreed in writing before work begins.

Unused updates do not roll over to the following month.

9. Approval & go live

Before your website goes live, we will send you a preview link for your review. You will have the opportunity to request changes at this stage. We will not publish the website without your explicit written approval.

Once you approve the website and it goes live, the Setup Fee is considered fully earned and is non-refundable.

If you do not respond to a preview within 14 days despite reasonable attempts to contact you, we reserve the right to either publish the site as previewed or pause the project. The Setup Fee remains payable in full regardless.

10. Intellectual property

Upon receipt of all outstanding payments, the design and written content of your website are yours. You are free to use, modify, or transfer them as you wish.

We retain the right to include your site in our portfolio and use it as an example of our work. If you do not wish us to do this, please notify us in writing and we will respect your preference.

Any third-party software, fonts, or frameworks used in the build (e.g. Tailwind CSS, Google Fonts) are subject to their own licences and remain the property of their respective owners.

11. Domain ownership

Where we register a domain name on your behalf, it is registered in your name. You own the domain. We manage it administratively as part of your subscription.

Upon cancellation, we will transfer domain management to you or a registrar of your choice at no charge. We will provide all necessary authorisation codes to facilitate this transfer.

12. Liability

We will carry out the Service with reasonable skill and care. However, we do not guarantee:

• Any specific position in search engine results
• Any specific volume of calls, leads, or enquiries
• 100% website uptime (though we aim for 99.9% and use reputable hosting infrastructure)

Our total liability to you in connection with any contract formed under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the 3 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, or loss of data, whether arising from breach of contract, negligence, or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

13. Warranties & representations

You warrant that:

• You have the authority to enter into this agreement
• All information and materials you provide to us are accurate and do not infringe any third-party rights
• Your use of the website will comply with all applicable laws, including consumer protection legislation, advertising standards, and data protection law

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer (i.e. acting outside of a business capacity), nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We will notify existing clients of material changes by email with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
